I’ll admit it. I like to write lists. It keeps me organized and sane. So even though I’ve been working at resTV for five weeks-ish, Mike told me to write down things I learned. I definitely learned more than ten things, but I had to narrow it down. And in the holiday spirit, I decided to write it in the jingle form of “12 Days of Christmas.” (Please don’t try to sing it…because it’s probably not in a good rhythm or beat). Enjoy :)
On the FIRST day of resTV, I learned how to hold an audio mic around my shoulders. Thanks Larry.
On the SECOND day of resTV, I used Final Cut Pro to make the finish touches. Thanks David.
On the THIRD day of resTV, I fixed the green screen because the blonde locks blended into the background. Thanks Hannah.
On the FOURTH day of resTV, I set the white balance before filming. Thanks Eric.
On the FIFTH day of resTV, I wrote a script that was made into an episode of ETE! Good job, Jessica.
On the SIXTH day of resTV, I filmed the wide-shot of an episode that made me stifle my laughter. Thanks Ricky.
On the SEVENTH day of resTV, I logged and transferred footage. Thanks Alex.
On the EIGHTH day of resTV, I can now say I know how to color correct. Thanks Rebecca.
On the NINTH day of resTV, I can multi-clip. It’s pretty cool. Not gonna lie. Thanks Andrey.
On the TENTH day of resTV, I wrote my second blog on tumblr. Thanks Mike.
So, there you have it. I went from knowing pretty much nothing to learning so much material in a matter of weeks. At times I feel overwhelmed, but many people helped me throughout the process. If it weren’t for them, I’d probably be writing the “10 Things I Don’t Know How to Do” (There’s More than 10). I’d like to use this as a way of showing that I really do appreciate their help. Thank you for passing on your knowledge. And I’m still learning!
Can’t wait for next quarter,
Jessica
